A CF Leader

Hospital Connections

Excellence in patient care and assuring the best possible patient outcomes are the guiding principles of The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago. We achieve this with our leadership role in the development of new strategies in CF care. While the majority of CF care occurs on an outpatient basis, there are instances when hospitalization is necessary. By joining forces with the top healthcare facilities both in the Chicago region as well as nationally, The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago incorporates all the newest and most effective treatments.

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago

As a member of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Community Physicians Association and by serving on the medical staff, Dr. Boas partners with Illinois’ top rated pediatric hospital. This partnership keeps The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago on the leading edge of all new treatment modalities and at the center of one of the country’s top communities of pediatric specialists.

Northshore University HealthSystem

Dr. Boas is on staff at NorthShore University HealthSystem. The hospital is a teaching school affiliated with the prestigious University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, partners with the Mayo Clinic, and is ranked by the National Institutes of Health as the #1 independent research hospital in Illinois with over 1000 studies. This collaboration enables The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago to stay on the forefront of all cutting edge CF research.

Alexian Brothers Health Network

Dr. Boas’ other hospital connections include the Alexian Brothers Health Networks, the leader in pediatric care in the Northwest Suburban corridor with over 40% of the area’s pediatric admissions. To serve this growing need, a new state of the art children’s hospital has been built on the Hoffman Estates medical campus and The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is a leader in this growing medical community.

Other Medical Institutions

Dr. Boas is also on the medical staff of other large area hospitals – Lake Forest Hospital, Northwest Community hospital in Arlington Heights, Edward Hospital in Naperville, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in Chicago, and Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago is itself a “secondary” medical facility with Dr. Boas generally serving as a consultant and treating physician upon the referral from a primary care physician, pediatric internist or family medicine physician. For our patients who require highly specialized medical care such as lung transplants, Dr. Boas has a longstanding relationships with tertiary or quaternary hospitals, the most noteworthy being Loyola University Health System, Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and The University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.

While The Cystic Fibrosis Center of Chicago's main office is located in Glenview, we also have satellite facilities in Naperville, South Barrington and Lake Bluff.
